Long chats on the kitchen floor.

Tea for two.

Eggs and oatmeal in the morning.

This means that Michael is home. It’s magical. And delightful.  It is a very different house than it was whilst he was gone.

I had such a good time whilst he was away. I felt happy and grounded and safe. Things were actually great. But having him home is better than great. It is like ice cream with sprinkles. My mind is still a little blown that I get to hang out with my best friend every day. I get to wake up next to him and make breakfast with him and work alongside him. I get to stay up all night talking to him or go to sleep early holding hands with him.

He and I are in a bit of a transition now. Or we’re about to be. He’s applying to graduate schools, some that will keep him close but some that will take him away. Right now, we do not know which it will be and there are so many factors out of our control. There is definitely change on the horizon and that is a little scary. With the Great Unknown ahead of us, I’m trying to take special care to stay present and to cherish the way are lives are at exactly this moment, because soon they will look different.

Unfortunately, all of this is leaving me feeling like I’m in limbo. Change is scary. Especially when something so close to your heart is what is changing.  I like to have plenty of time to come around to an idea. I like when I know what to prepare for. Right now my mind is always mulling over outcomes and alternatives. I’m distracted and preoccupied and in love with procrastination. My goal for the week ahead is to try and take each moment and utilize it. To not stand still in fear but to move forward. And that begins with publishing this post – I know it’s been quiet here this week, I’ve had a little writer’s block and I’ve been very indulgent with it.

I am working on trusting and cherishing. All will be well and the love I have is something to marvel at.

Here is to the week ahead – I hope it is filled with daffodils, spring mornings, light evenings and lots of love.

On another note, I’m planning on changing up my posting schedule a bit – I’m going to try out posting on Monday and Friday. Friday will still be Weekend Whimsy and Monday will be longer, more personal posts. Tell me how you like it!

– Violet.

  1. I really love your blog.. Very nice colors & theme.

Did you build this web site yourself? Please reply back as I’m trying to create my own blog and would like to find out where you got this from or exactly what the theme is named. Thanks!
